return to members pageWhat's NewGammOnLine is not a static publication. While I plan to have a new issueready around the first of every month, sometimes an article or two willarrive late or there may be some new feature which I wish to include. Oneof the nice things about web publishing is that one isn't stuck with whatone publishes -- it is quite easy to add new things. This page will beused to keep the reader abreast of any additions to the current issuewhich he might not have seen, and to disseminate any general news aboutGammOnLine. The SW vs. GNU series is available for study, download, or whatever on GammOnLine. Nack's long awaited for article on pipcounting is finally ready in theAugust issue. Starting in May, I will no longer be annotating a match every month.Instead, I will doing an extensive analysis of one match, adding a coupleof games every month. See the editor's note in the May 2001 issue for amore complete description of this. I will be out of the country until the middle of September. While I hopeto have some internet access so I can keep the online match going, I willnot be able to complete the September issue until I return. A couple offeatures from that issue are ready now. Click on Next month's issue toaccess them. I am keeping a file of readers (usernames only) with whom Ihave been unable to get into contact with via e-mail -- their subscriptions areaboout to expire. Be sure and check to see if your username is on thelist, and if it is write me asap. Click HERE to access the file. GammOnLine is hosted by the same server as FIBS. So if you are unable toget on, you might check out the FIBS STATUS PAGE . Patti keeps that status of the server up to datethere, and if the server is down you can probably find out about it there. Solutions to the monthly quiz are now in frame format, so you can keep thediagram in front of you while reading the panelists' solutions. The oldformat is also available. I have modified the programming of the online match to move things alongwhen actions are obvious but still give the readers a full chance to havetheir say. Click here to readinstructions on the new format. GammOnLine readers can now download the images necessary to read articlesoffline. Click here to download the images. The GammOnLine Bulletin Board is now ready. Come andconsult for the online match or discuss anything else you want. At the request of a few readers, I am now retaining the voting files forthe online match. When you replay the match you can now click on "YourVote" in the frame which has the votes, and you will see how you hadvoted. This will be helpful to all when reviewing the match in thefuture.
